“Those who have no record of what their forebears have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history.”
— Dr. Carter G. Woodson
I’m Sasha, the youngest daughter and family historian of the Parker clan.
No one asked me to be our family historian, I’ve just always been fascinated by history and the stories that make us, us.
Growing up, I remember sitting with my elders — my parents, grandparents, great aunts & uncles as they played cards and recounted story after story from their past.
Unfortunately, too many of those elders have moved on and taken their stories with them. So in 2019, I decided to start documenting these stories to preserve them for future generations.
What started as series of conversations and Ancestry.com rabbit holes, has turned into a sprawling family archive, detailing more than five generations of family history. And I’ve discovered we have much more in common than just DNA.
When I’m not hanging out in the archives, you can find me in Los Angeles writing, podcasting or building digital things.
Got questions, inquiries or just want to say hey? Drop me a note.
